SAG-AFTRA is in a difficult first contract negotiation for staff at two radio stations owned by Spanish Broadcasting System in Los Angeles: La Raza and MEGA. SAG-AFTRA has unfair labor practice charges pending with the NLRB for SBS’ actions, including the termination of several employees.
We need your help, participation and presence this Tuesday, Aug. 29. Below is a notice for a community forum to be held at the office of the L.A. Federation of Labor. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP today to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Speakers will include members Jon Huerta, Yareli Arizmendi and DJ Mr. Boro (SBS on-air talent), Los Angeles City Councilmembers David Ryu and Nury Martinez, and Executive Director of Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), Angelica Salas.
Please join us and thank you for your participation and support for these SAG-AFTRA voices in their fight for a fair contract. Members of the L.A. Local Board along with MOVE, Local Broadcast, Organizing and EEO/Diversity committees are encouraged to attend, to fill up the room and sign a statement of support to show your solidarity.
